Today your 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Family Tour begins! We will depart at 7:30 am, from there we go straight to Kruger National Park. On route we will stop for a drinks and snacks break and we will arrive at Phabeni gate to Kruger at around 12pm. We will then take a slow game-drive to Skukuza camp and you can enjoy lunch down by the Sabie River. You will be staying at Skukuza for 2 nights. The camp has a comprehensive shop, restaurant, laundry and swimming pool. Skukuza camp is situated on the banks of the Sabie River and is the perfect place to see animals come for a drink or for a relaxing fence-walk where you can walk around, spotting animals or just sit at a bench and enjoy the beautiful view.
This afternoon we take you out for a short afternoon drive for a chance to spot some South African wildlife. When we return to camp we will prepare dinner and enjoy some stories around the camp fire.
Meals Included: Dinner
Today is sure to be an entertaining adventure for the whole family. We will have a more relaxed start to the day instead of the usual pre sunrise wake up call. We will go out on a short morning safari on the way to the western gate of Kruger, Phabeni, this is an area where we can spot elephant, buffalo and white rhino. Once we exit the park we will travel the short distance to Hazyview, a small town close to Kruger National Park. Here you can choose between 3 exciting activities that are not just interactive but also very fun and educational.
Perry`s Bridge Reptile Park, is a unique reptile park housing snakes, crocodiles, alligators, tortoise, frogs and many more creepy crawlies that usually bring fear into most of the worlds human inhabitants. The idea behind the Reptile Park is to educate in a fun and interesting way and to show that we actually don`t have anything to fear from these amazing creatures and that we rely on them in many more ways than one for us humans to exist without too much trouble from pests that can carry disease.
The Elephant Sanctuary is a place where young orphaned elephants have been raised and in the process have accepted humans into their daily lives. Sanctuaries like these are the only places where we can get up and close to normally very dangerous animals. The sanctuaries also act as research stations to learn more about elephant behaviour and how we can keep the species alive for centuries to come. There are various options for interaction with the elephants including feeding, washing, walking and riding the elephants.
The Shangaan Tribe is the tribe that live in and around the southern section of Kruger National Park, their culture is unique and has some amazing traditions. At the Shangaan Cultural Village we can see and experience some of these traditions without imposing ourselves on their daily lives.
We will have an own expense lunch in town before we head back to Kruger and back to our camp for dinner.
Please note that it might not be possible to do all the activities and that all activities outside of Kruger are optional and for own expense.
Meals Included: Breakfast and Dinner.
After breakfast we pack up and head towards the exit gates of Kruger. We first travel along the Drakensberg escarpment before we start to ascend it. Our first stop for the day will be at one of the viewpoints overlooking the Lowveld from the Highveld at the Blyde River Canyon. There we will have a bird’s eye view of the Lowveld we’ve been exploring for the past few days before we head to a very old mining town called “Pilgrims Rest”.
Pilgrims Rest has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the town`s cultural importance and the town seems to be frozen in time. From here we head towards Graskop, a small town where we will have lunch. After Lunch we will head over to God’s Window a view that is so beautiful that it is believed to be God`s window to see earth. Here we get a true glimpse of how earth appears from the clouds and the view is simply breath-taking!
Tonight we will be sleeping in a resort at the Blyde River Canyon.
Meals Provided: Breakfast and Dinner
Leaving the mountains behind us we start our journey back to Johannesburg but not before we show you one or two more things, Dullstroom and the Birds of Prey Rehab Centre. Dullstroom is a quaint little town filled with art galleries and charming gift stores whilst the Birds Of Prey Rehab Centre gives the young ones one last opportunity to gasp as they get up close and personal with these great majestic birds (Own Expense). From here we will go back to Johannesburg and we will either drop you at your accommodation or we will say good-bye at the airport.
