This is a Fantastic Tour of Zimbabwe that explores the entire Western Side of the Country and offers wonderful wildlife opportunities as well as unbelievable scenery.

The first stop on the 6 Day Zimbabwe Safari is Matobo National Park a beautiful area containing many lush forested valleys and the famous picturesque balancing granite boulders that are among the oldest rocks in the world. Matobo is also famous for fantastic Rhino sightings and a safari in Matobo alternates between a vehicle and walking safari, there are great opportunities to find the huge gentle giants on foot, this is an experience that is very hard to beat. While at Matobo National Park guests will also visit the awesome View Point aptly named “World‘s End” as well as some of the famous rock formations such as “The Mother and Child”. Matobo is also home to some of the most significant and best preserved San Rock art sites in Africa with some of the artwork dated over 10 000 years old!

The second stop of this amazing 6 Day Zimbabwe Safari is Hwange National Park, this is Zimbabwe’s premiere national park and guests will enjoy wildlife experiences that rival the best in Africa. Hwange is one of the largest National Parks in Africa and the area covers a variety of habitats. The variety of animals in Hwange is higher than most National Parks on the planet and the park is teeming with game.

The tour ends in a stunning visit to Victoria Falls Africa`s Natural Wonder of The World. The Victoria Falls is one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya" -- the smoke that thunders. The power of the worlds largest sheet of falling water is unbelievable. The Victoria Falls drops between 90m and 107m into the Zambezi Gorge. An average of 550,000 cubic metres of water plummet over the edge every minute. A Visit to this astounding Natural Wonder of the World is an absolute must for any travel loving citizen of the world.

Day 1: Bulawayo to Matobo National Park

On arrival at Bulawayo International Airport you will be met by our guide and driven through Bulawayo city, this about a twenty minute drive with a stop if you need a quick shop. We will then travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Matobo Hills, the oldest National Park in Zimbabwe. We will be Staying at the National Park run Maleme lodges.
You will have time to check in, unpack and then re assemble for an afternoon game drive through the park looking for the rare Rhino. We will return to the lodge at sunset and enjoy a Relaxing evening, with scrumptious meals, drinks and enjoyable time spent around the fire.

Day 2: Matobo National Park

We will be up at sunrise this morning to enjoy the spectacular colour change of the surrounding granite boulders as they get hit by the suns first rays. We will enjoy breakfast and then start our game viewing and see numerous species of animals and birds. Matobo National Park and it’s surrounds are known to have one of the highest density of leopard populations in Zimbabwe, hopefully we can catch a glimpse of this elusive Big Cat. Rhino are usually seen with our record being 13 in a day. There is a stunningly beautiful lunch platform where we will stop to enjoy the view and have a picnic lunch. On the return journey to the lodge we will visit the grave of a man well known for his exploits throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe, Cecil John Rhodes. We will be back at camp just before sunset and enjoy the awesome views with a traditional sun-downer before another fantastic meal.

Day 3: Matobo to Hwange National Park

This morning we will enjoy a relaxed start with breakfast at 7 am, we will then check out and depart for Hwange National park, Zimbabwe`s Premiere National Park. The journey will take approximately three and a half hours depending on stops, and we will enjoy lunch once we arrive at the Hwange National Park Main Camp.
At around 3 pm we will depart for an exciting afternoon game drive. We will visit the wonderful Nyamandlovu Pan platform. Here we may see many elephants and a wide variety of game drinking and we will enjoy some snacks and a traditional sundowner. We will then head back to main camp and freshen up before we enjoy a traditional African BBQ and share stories of the day around the camp fire pit.

Day 4: Hwange National Park

This morning we will be up at sunrise and enjoy coffee and quick bite before we depart to explore Hwange National Park, we will start with a game drive towards an area called Kennedy looking for Lions, this is the area that the famous”Cecil the Lion” lived and we may see his former pride or relatives. We will then spend some time exploring the plains and marvel at the sight of giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and buffalo as they go about their daily routines. We will then stop at a picnic site for lunch, to rest up and enjoy game viewing away from the vehicle before starting the return leg towards Main Camp for the evening. This will be a fantastic and rewarding day with many spectacular wildlife sightings if we are lucky we may enjoy exhilarating up-close sightings of the Presidential Elephant Herd. Tonight we will enjoy dinner under the stars at the lodge.

Day 5: Hwange to Victoria Falls National Park

This morning we will enjoy a relaxed start and view the wildife from the camp before we enjoy a hearty breakfast. We will then depart for the Natural Wonder of World the Victoria Falls. The drive usually takes about two and a half hours and on arrival in Victoria falls and we will check in to Wilderness Self Catering Lodge. Here you get to relax and have lunch (own expense) or just enjoy the views. In the afternoon we will arrange a guided walk through the beautiful rain forest on the edge of the gorge and enjoy the spectacular views of Victoria Falls. This usually takes about three hours and you need to dress to get wet! The mist can be pretty awesome and almost like a rain shower. There are a number of great curio stands at the entrance to the Falls the staff love the traditional bargaining and you will surely end up with some great pieces to take home.
We will return to the lodge in the late afternoon and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.

Day 6: Victoria Falls Airport

 

This morning we will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, we will then check out and depending on your flights you may want to do some last minute shopping or enjoy a walk around town. When you are ready we will arrange to collect you and transfer to the airport to catch your flights out.
