The expansive grasslands here provide the perfect habitat for cheetahs, and this morning, our mission is to track down one of these magnificent cats. The thrill of the chase and the opportunity to see a cheetah in action are moments that will stay with you forever.

After an exhilarating morning drive, we’ll return to camp for a satisfying breakfast, giving you a chance to refuel and relax before packing up and bidding farewell to Satara. Our journey to the next camp, Skukuza, spans approximately 90 kilometres. As we travel, we’ll traverse areas renowned for lion sightings and pause at two iconic water points known for attracting a myriad of animal species simultaneously. These waterholes are bustling hubs of activity, offering fantastic photo opportunities and a chance to observe interactions among different species.

Arriving at Skukuza around 1 pm, we’ll drop you off by the picturesque Sabie River, allowing you to enjoy lunch at the camp restaurant at your own expense. Skukuza, the largest camp in Kruger, serves as the park’s administrative capital. Nestled along the banks of the famous Sabie River, the camp boasts beautiful riverine forest trees that create a serene and picturesque setting.

Your accommodation for the night will be in traditional African thatched huts called rondavels. These charming huts offer twin beds, a private washroom with a shower and toilet, a ceiling fan, a fridge, air conditioning, and a small patio.

The morning begins with a hearty breakfast before we swap our open safari vehicle for a comfortable closed vehicle, suited for the long journey ahead.

Our route today covers approximately 550 kilometres, making it a full day on the road. Despite the length, the drive is filled with captivating scenery that transitions from the vast expanses of Kruger to the lush landscapes of Zululand. Along the way, we’ll traverse traditional farmlands in the Pongola region, offering a glimpse into the rural life and agricultural practices of the area. The picturesque views and changing landscapes make the journey an integral part of the safari experience.

Around midday, we’ll stop for lunch at a local takeaway restaurant. This is an opportunity to stretch your legs, enjoy some local cuisine, and perhaps pick up a few snacks for the remainder of the drive. The stop is also a great chance to interact with locals and get a feel for the vibrant culture of the region.

As we continue our journey, the anticipation builds as we approach the gates of Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park in the late afternoon. Following a fulfilling morning of wildlife viewing, we gather for a delicious lunch, replenishing our energy for the adventures ahead. Our journey continues as we cross through the park, entering the western section known as Imfolozi. This area is characterized by thick, jungle-like forests that spill over the surrounding hills, creating a picturesque setting for our afternoon safari. Imfolozi is renowned for its population of leopards, and we remain hopeful of encountering these elusive big cats in their natural habitat.

Tonight, we rest at Mpila Rest Camp, where you will be accommodated in luxury safari tents. These tents offer a blend of comfort and immersion in nature, with amenities such as electricity, two beds, a private bathroom with toilet and shower, a fan, a fridge, a small kitchen, and a small viewing deck. Upon returning to the lodge, we gather for a hearty breakfast, reflecting on the incredible wildlife sightings and experiences of the past days.

After breakfast, we bid farewell to the park and begin our journey towards the south, heading to the stunning beaches of the Dolphin Coast near Durban. Along the way, we make a stop at a bustling African craft market, allowing you to browse for souvenirs and mementos of your safari adventure.

As we near the end of our safari, we reach the beachside just north of Durban, marking the conclusion of your safari adventure. We recommend booking a few nights at a conveniently located guest house to unwind and reflect on your journey. Alternatively, if you wish to extend your adventure, we can add a couple of nights to your safari and arrange activities in and around Durban for you to enjoy. Another option is to conclude your safari with a drop-off at King Shaka International Airport, where you can catch your flight home or continue your travels.

Day 10 marks the end of your 10 Day Bush to Beach Safari, a journey filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, breathtaking landscapes, and lasting memories. As you bid farewell to the African wilderness, take with you the spirit of adventure and the beauty of the wild, carrying them with you long after your safari has ended.

We provide all children under 12 a 50% discount and under the age of 16 a 25% discount.
