Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park – Satara Rest Camp

Embark on a spectacular journey with Day 1 of our 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Tour, where your adventure commences with a seamless road transfer from O.R. Tambo Airport at 7:40 am. Your transfer takes you to the charming town of Hoedspruit, arriving at 13:30.

In Hoedspruit, you will meet your dedicated Wild Planet Safari guide and switch to our comfortable Open Safari Vehicle. Before heading to Kruger National Park, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where you can savor some delicious local cuisine at your own expense.

An hour’s drive brings us to the Orpen Gate, the entrance to the world-renowned Kruger National Park. After a quick check-in, we’ll embark on a leisurely drive to Satara Rest Camp, our base for the first two nights of the tour. This initial safari drive will be an exciting introduction to Kruger’s diverse wildlife as we search high and low for some amazing sightings.

Satara Rest Camp, situated in the grasslands of Kruger, is a hotspot for grazing animals like zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species. This setting provides excellent wildlife observation opportunities right from the start. The camp features a waterhole just outside its perimeter, offering you the chance to spot animals even while relaxing at the camp.

Your accommodation at Satara will be in traditional round thatched huts known as rondawels. These cozy units are equipped with two single beds, a washroom, toilet, and shower, as well as an air conditioner to ensure your comfort. Outside, each rondawel has a fridge, a small patio, and a kitchen, allowing you to enjoy the serene surroundings.

As the sun sets over the African bush, we will serve a delectable dinner at the camp, offering you a taste of local flavors while you unwind and share stories of your first day’s adventures. Day 2: Kruger National Park – Satara Rest Camp

Day 2 of our 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Tour begins with an exhilarating early morning safari drive in the captivating Satara area. Our primary focus is on the awe-inspiring predators that inhabit this region, including the elusive leopard, majestic lion, cunning hyena, swift cheetah, and the rare wild dog. With a stroke of luck, you may witness the thrilling spectacle of a predator on the hunt, showcasing the untamed beauty of Kruger National Park. After an adrenaline-filled morning, we’ll enjoy a delightful breakfast at a picturesque picnic site before returning to camp, satisfied and energized.

Once back at the camp, you can unwind and relish the camp’s facilities during the warmth of the midday sun. Take a leisurely walk along the camp’s fence, where you may spot some animals in the surrounding area or opt for a refreshing swim to cool down. You can also relax on your private patio, savouring the tranquil atmosphere and perhaps catching a glimpse of wildlife at the nearby waterhole. After an enjoyable lunch, we set out for an afternoon safari, where we anticipate encountering even more incredible wildlife. By now, you’ll have likely seen many of the animals you’ve been eager to spot, and perhaps some surprises that weren’t on your list.

As the sun begins its descent, we return to camp, basking in the glow of a Kruger sunset. Our chef will prepare a delectable dinner under the celestial canopy, creating a perfect ending to a day filled with adventure. But the excitement doesn’t end there. After dinner, you will embark on an exhilarating Kruger night-drive. Accompanied by a seasoned Kruger ranger armed with a powerful spotlight, you will venture into the park to uncover the mysteries of the nocturnal world. Experience the thrill of encountering active predators such as lions, leopards, and servals, along with other fascinating creatures like hyenas, porcupines, honey badgers, and more.

After a hearty breakfast, we pack up and bid farewell to the iconic Kruger National Park, heading towards the exit gates. Our journey continues as we travel along the stunning Drakensberg escarpment, gradually ascending to higher altitudes.

First up, we’ll explore the historic town of Pilgrims Rest, where you’ll be transported back in time, experiencing its rich heritage and charm. This picturesque town, frozen in time, offers a fascinating glimpse into South Africa’s gold rush era, with its well-preserved buildings and nostalgic atmosphere.

Next, we’ll head to Graskop for a delicious lunch at a venue of your choice, offering a variety of culinary delights (at your own expense). This vibrant town provides an excellent break in our journey, allowing you to savor local flavors and relax in a welcoming setting.

Our panoramic journey continues with a visit to the awe-inspiring God’s Window, offering breathtaking views of the Lowveld. Standing at this famous viewpoint, you’ll marvel at the expansive vistas stretching across lush valleys and verdant landscapes, truly giving you a sense of the majesty of nature.

We then proceed to the Berlin Falls and Lisbon Falls, where you’ll witness the sheer beauty of nature in cascading waterfalls. These stunning natural attractions are perfect spots for photography and appreciating the raw power and elegance of water shaping the land.

The day reaches its climax at the iconic Three Rondavels in the Blyde River Canyon, a geological wonder that will leave you speechless with its striking rock formations. As the day winds down, we’ll arrive at the welcoming Forever Resort in the late afternoon. You’ll stay in comfortable chalets with two bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, and a convenient small kitchen, ensuring a cozy and comfortable stay. The resort’s amenities provide the perfect environment to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.

For dinner, our skilled chef will prepare a delicious meal at your chalet, offering a relaxed and personalized dining experience for you and your family. This private dinner under the African sky is the perfect way to end a day filled with exploration and wonder.

Day 3 of the 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Tour promises a day of breathtaking scenery, historical exploration, and relaxing comfort, providing a rich and varied experience in one of South Africa’s most stunning regions.

Day 4: Blyde River Canyon to Johannesburg – O.R. Tambo Airport

On the final day of our 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Tour, we begin with a leisurely breakfast at 7:30 am, allowing you to savor the serene morning atmosphere of the Blyde River Canyon. After breakfast, we embark on a scenic hike to a beautiful waterfall, offering a last chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of this remarkable region. The trail provides stunning views and a peaceful ambiance, making it a perfect way to reflect on the incredible journey you’ve experienced over the past few days.

Following our invigorating hike, we depart the Forever Resort at 10 am and drive a short distance to the charming town of Ohrigstad. Here, we’ll meet our transfer driver who will ensure a safe and comfortable journey back to Johannesburg. The drive will take you through picturesque landscapes, offering a final glimpse of South Africa’s diverse scenery as you relax and enjoy the ride.

As we make our way back to Johannesburg, you’ll have the opportunity to reflect on the highlights of your trip, from the thrilling wildlife encounters in Kruger National Park to the breathtaking vistas of the Panorama Route. The drive provides a tranquil conclusion to your adventure, allowing you to unwind and absorb the memories of your safari.

We aim to arrive at O.R. Tambo Airport between 5 and 6 pm, giving you ample time to check in for your onward journey. To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend booking domestic flights no earlier than 7 pm and international flights no earlier than 8 pm.

Day 4 of the 4 Day Kruger and Panorama Tour offers a perfect blend of relaxation and final exploration, wrapping up your unforgettable safari adventure with a serene morning hike, a scenic drive through beautiful landscapes, and a comfortable transfer back to Johannesburg.
