The Assistant is there as a game spotter while on drives, to help you with anything else you may need and he will also be the chef for the safari.
We live on the border to Kruger and we spend most of our time inside the park, all our guides move throughout the park and have far more experience in Kruger as a whole than most guides guiding in the park. The guides and assistants really love what they do, and this is the most important influence on your experience.
